Global ad campaign for Pokémon Go

One of our favourite sync placements has to be the global ad campaign for Pokemon Go. Singer & songwriter Paul Canning’s version of Queens classic ‘You’re my Best Friend’ was chosen as the soundtrack to the worldwide relaunch for this classic brand. The ad campaign ran across social media, cinema and television.

A sync of this level is always going to have a positive knock on effect for the artist both on social media and on streaming figures. Due to Covid-19 the live music scene has been extremely affected so a five figure global sync placement can be extremely lucrative and important to an artist when other revenue streams are not performing as normal.

At the time of writing the YouTube trailer has had over 100,000,000 views across all countries and territories. When you factor in Cinema and TV and other platforms like Facebook and Instagram, the amount of exposure the song has had is incredible for an independent artist.
